Rules for the Memory Verse Challenge
- Accuracy: Verses must be cited word-for-word, including the correct book, chapter, and verse reference.
- Format: Competition will be oral, written, or a hybrid.
- Language : English , Tamil , Hindi are allowed.
- Translation: Avoid mixing different versions. Stick to one version. [ NIV, KJV, NKJV, ESV ] If other versions inform during registration.
- Errors/Penalties: Points are usually deducted for missed, added, or incorrect words, and for incorrect references.
- Prompts: Participants may be allowed a limited number of prompts from judges if they get stuck.
- Procedure: In oral contests, recitation must be clear; in written, handwriting must be legible (bonus points included).
- Time Limits: Participants may have a set time to write as many verses as possible, or a time limit for oral recitation.
- Disqualification: Reading from notes or using unauthorized aid usually leads to disqualification.
