Rules for the Memory Verse Challenge 

  1. Age Group : Teens, NexGen, Students and adults will use the same syllabus , but compete in different categories.
  2. Accuracy : Verses must be cited word-for-word, including the correct book, chapter, and verse reference.
  3. Format: Competition will be oral, written, or a hybrid. 
  4. Language : English , Tamil , Hindi are allowed. 
  5. Translation: Avoid mixing different versions. Stick to one version. [ NIV, KJV, NKJV, ESV ] If other versions inform during registration. 
  6. Errors/Penalties: Points are usually deducted for missed, added, or incorrect words, and for incorrect references.
  7. Prompts: Participants may be allowed a limited number of prompts from judges if they get stuck. 
  8. Procedure: In oral contests, recitation must be clear; in written, handwriting must be legible (bonus points included).
  9. Time Limits: Participants may have a set time to write as many verses as possible, or a time limit for oral recitation.
  10. Disqualification: Reading from notes or using unauthorized aid usually leads to disqualification
