Celebrating the Gift of Christmas
The essence of Christmas is the joyous celebration of God’s gift to us in Jesus Christ, prompting an authentic response of gratitude and worship.
Psalm 100:4 invites us to consider how we can approach God with joy and thanksgiving:
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Christmas is an Invitation to Enter the gates represent access to God’s presence.
Through Christ, we have been given access to the Father, as Paul reminds us in Ephesians 2:18: “For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.”
Imagine a grand palace where only a select few can enter. With Christ, we have been given not just an invitation but an open door to approach God. This gift invites us into relationship and communion with Him.
This Christmas, let us accept this invitation. Instead of staying distant, let us draw near to God, reflecting on what He has done for us through Jesus.
Let us create intentional moments to enter His presence.
“Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. Help us to enter Your gates with joy, to be filled with thanksgiving in our hearts, and to praise You with our lips.
May our celebration of Christmas reflect the depth of our gratitude for all You have done. Amen.”
