Philippians 2:6-11
[6]who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
[7]but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
[8]And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
[9]Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
[10]that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
[11]and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
-authority of christ
Philippians 2:12
[12]Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
-Paul is asking to make sure
Philippians 2:13
[13]for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
-salvation is by grace
-make sure that the salvation should be progressive and full of obedience
2 Peter 1:5-8
[5]But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
[6]to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
[7]to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
[8]For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-this is what paul saying that we need to work ourselves out for salvation
-all the behaviors that are needed for the work of salvation
-fullness into completion only available in Christ
Ephesians 1:10-13
[10]that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
[11]In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
[12]that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
[13]In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Philippians 2:13-15
[13]for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
[14]Do all things without complaining and disputing,
[15]that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
-we will only do the works that we have done during the judgment day
-hold on with the word of god
-so that u will be blameless n pure
-we also have to continue to hold on to the word
Romans 8:14-15
[14]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
[15]For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
-we are called to be sons n daughters of God
-we have to be blameless and harmless
-whoever has received the salvation are called sons n daughters of god
-so that we can spread the gospel

Philippians 2:16-17
[16]holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
-don’t murmur for anything, and rejoice in everything
[17]Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
[18]For the same reason, you also be glad and rejoice with me.
-paul is sacrificing himself to be a servant for the sake of the gospel
2 Timothy 4:6-7
[6]For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
[7]I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
-drink offering is very important that is said here in Numbers but now it is pagan worship but Paul is saying that he is willing to pour his life
Paul is talking abt Timothy
Philippians 2:19-23
[19]But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state.
[20]For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.
[21]For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.
[22]But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.
[23]Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me.
[24]But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly
-Paul says timothy is just like him
-He is looking at the heart of others, so Timothy is worthy in his eyes
-he has already proved himself, has genuine interest in the welfare of other
-he is a dedicated person n had a relationship as a father n son

[25]Yet I considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, but your messenger and the one who ministered to my need;
-brother, soldier, and worker for Paul
-Epaphroditus was like a deacon in the church
Philippians 2:26-29
[26]since he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.
[27]For indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
[28]Therefore I sent him the more eagerly, that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful.
[29]Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such men in esteem;
-he has gone thru sickness n recovered
-asking them to honor him the way how they honor Paul
Philippians 3:1
[1]Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
-to remind and to reemphasize

-beware of people with impure taught, evil thoughts
-he is referring to the Jews

[18]For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.
-beware of legalistic ppl, we are in the time of grace
Galatians 3:3
[3]Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
Colossians 2:11
[11]In Him, you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
Philippians 3:3
[3]For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
-we have to worship God in spirit, not by flesh
Philippians 3:4-5
[4]though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so:
[5]circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;
-Philippians 3:6-14
[6]concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
[7]But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
[8]Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
[9]and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
[10]that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
[11]if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Pressing Toward the Goal
[12]Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
[13]Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
[14]I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
-he believed in the Resurrection power
-the rest is all rubbish
-whatever I have done before he is not looking into that, but pressing on the goal god kept
-we need to have a Christ mindset
-whatever he lost of christ he takes it as gain
