Being Fruitful
Luke 13:1-9
A fruitful tree is often used as a symbol of Godly Living. Jesus pointed out what would happen to the trees of other kind.
These kind of trees take valuable time and space and yet does nothing for the gardener who is patiently waiting.
Jesus warns the listeners during his time. He says that his tolerance with those trees which does not hear fruits.
Help us to understand where we stand today in the light of Galatians.
What fruit is God looking for? It has to begin with the fruit of the Spirit, mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
This is followed by willingness to invite others to the garden where you have been bearing fruits.
Have we been in the garden for long? Are you enjoying God’s blessing but unwilling to take it to others, share the blessing with others who do not enjoy the same previlege as you ?
Let us not declassify ourselves stating repentance is not for us. This is a call for repentance for everyone. You and me. Declassifying ourselves shows an unwillingness to repent, thus unable to bear fruits.
2 responses that we all qualify.
For all of us to repent from what we are today and bear fruits.
To invite others towards repentance and experience Fruitfulness in their lives.
