Wisdom that Spirit gives (Acts 6:10)

Reflection:

This verse depicts that about nobody could stand against Stephen because he didn’t speak from his flesh but from the Wisdom that the Holy Spirit bestowed on him.

It starts from the dedication to do small things wholeheartedly and we see the Holy Spirit giving us Wisdom in leading us to do mighty things for the kingdom.

Illustration:

When Billy Graham made his first trip to the UK in 1954, many protested his visit, leaving Billy Graham to wonder if he would even be allowed off the ship after his transatlantic voyage. By the end of his time there, thousands had come to know Jesus Christ, and many today still share how God transformed their lives during those Crusades. Real understanding about God always leads us to practical and compassionate action towards people and not to reject them. It takes Wisdom of God to lead and teach before hostile oppositions.

Application:

Are we trying to wade away from our commitments.  Do you think you can’t do it right.  It starts from stepping knowingly in to small commitments for God.

God sees our heart and he gives us the Spirit of Wisdom to carry out his tasks. No matter what opposition or threats that comes against us, when we do the tasks God gives us faithfully and wholeheartedly nothing in this World can subdue us, as the Spirit gives us the Wisdom, strength and boldness to face oppositions and move forward.

It starts with a willing heart to know and serve God.

Call to devotion:

In 1 Corinthians 2:4,Paul’s confidence was not in the usage of impressive vocabulary or in his intelligence but in the demonstration of the Power of the Holy Spirit.

It was the Holy Spirit which was leading him, guiding him and nourishing him with the Wisdom of God. Today let us not believe in self, but believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us.
