Humility and Wisdom (Proverbs 11:2)

Reflection:
We tend to reject advise when it’s our area of expertise because our pride refuses to accept it thinking ourselves highly skilled. This makes us to ignore instructions and end up being resentful leading us towards a rebellious nature.

Personal Story:
Every time my elder son tried to teach my younger son on how to play a game, his response would be I KNOW IT. I had to intervene and taught him to be patient and hear out the instructions from his elder  brother so he can do it correctly rather than ending up messing the whole game. We too gone through certain incidents similar to this and it’s the pride which stops us from hearing and moving forward in our life.

Practical Application:
Do we think highly about ourselves more than others or do we tend to ignore people when diverse views are being shared. Let us understand that we are all part of the body of Christ. We might be unique and different and have different functionalities  but we all have one head and that is Christ. So today let us heed the instructions that GOD gives so that we can move forward in the direction he directs for us to prosper in our life.

Call to Devotion:
Proverbs 16:18 says Pride goes before destruction. Today if we are filled with pride, let us take a step back and ask ourselves what is it that causes pride in us. It is God who is the source of all that we are and all that we have today, so let us humble ourselves and ask God to remove the pride from us so he can fill it up with his Wisdom.
