The Miracle at the Gate
Acts 3:1-10

It’s an ordinary day; the sun is shining, and people are bustling around, going about their daily routines in Jerusalem. Peter and John, two of Jesus’ disciples, are on their way to the temple for prayer. At the temple gate called Beautiful, they encounter a man who has been crippled from birth, a man who spends his days begging for alms from those entering the temple courts.

Faith in Action
It is here that we witness a remarkable display of faith, not just through mere words but through powerful action. The beggar expects a few coins to meet his immediate needs, but Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, offers something far greater. Peter looks intently at the man and says, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Immediately, the man is healed and begins walking, leaping, and praising God. His life is transformed, and he is restored to not just health but to community and worship.

This passage beautifully shows the transformative power of faith. We are reminded that while we may not always have material wealth to offer, we possess something infinitely more valuable – the power of Christ within us. Just like Peter, we have the opportunity to be vessels of God’s miracles.

A few years ago, a young woman struggling with despair. She’d lost her job and was close to losing hope in GOD. Feeling prompted by God, I  prayed for her. That prayer was a turning point for her. A chain of events led her to new opportunities and a renewed sense of purpose. We never know until we pray.

Be Attentive: Like Peter and John, let us be alert and compassionate towards those God places in our paths, looking beyond appearances and recognizing the deeper needs of others.

Offer What You Have: We carry the presence of God within us. Our words of encouragement, a listening ear, and the power of prayer can make a life-changing impacts.

Step Out in Faith: Trust in God’s power to work through you, even when situations seem impossible. Your faith in action can lead to miraculous changes in the lives of those around you.

Let us commit today to actively seek opportunities to share Christ’s love and healing power. Let’s be the instruments of His miracles, reaching out in faith and allowing His light to shine through us.
